Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Teachy is a community-focused initiative operated by VALERA MINDLAB LIMITED, a company registered in Ireland under company number 767789, with its registered office at 40 Bayside Boulevard North, Dublin, D13 K0H3, Ireland. Teachy is designed to support early years educators and childcare providers in Ireland. You can contact us at adrianvalrom@gmail.com.

• Educators can create profiles and share reviews of childcare providers.
• The Platform is operated in Ireland and subject to Irish and EU law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. User Accounts

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering binding contracts to use Teachy.

2.2 Account Registration

Users must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account. You agree to update your information as necessary to maintain its accuracy.

2.3 Account Responsibility

You must take reasonable care to protect your login credentials and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for your own use of the account and use you authorise, but not automatically for activity caused by a security failure attributable to us.

2.4 Account Suspension and Termination

We may restrict or suspend accounts where reasonably necessary to address unlawful conduct, material breaches of these Terms, fraud or security risks. We will explain the relevant grounds and how to request a human review where we have a means of contacting you, unless disclosure is legally prohibited or would compromise an investigation or security. Urgent protective action may precede notice. You may stop using Teachy at any time and request account closure by email.

3. User Roles and Responsibilities

Teachers

• May create and maintain a professional profile.
• May post reviews about creches based on their experience.
• Must not post false, defamatory, or misleading reviews or information.

Creches

• May create institutional profiles only if authorised to represent the childcare provider concerned.

4. Content and Reviews

4.1 Ownership of Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit, including reviews and profile information. By posting content, you grant VALERA MINDLAB LIMITED a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce and display it only as necessary to operate and provide the Platform. This does not authorise unrelated promotional use. Public use ends when the content is removed from the Platform; limited private retention for moderation, security or legal claims is described in our Privacy Policy.

4.2 Moderation

Moderation decisions are made by human administrators. We may restrict access to comments that contain unlawful content, personal or confidential information, threats, manipulation or other breaches of these Terms. Negative criticism is not, by itself, a breach. We do not routinely rewrite an author’s words or undertake to verify every contribution before publication.

4.3 Reviews Disclaimer

Reviews are user contributions and may contain both factual claims and opinions; they are not statements or endorsements by Teachy. We do not guarantee their accuracy or independently verify every account. Our handling of unlawful content and any responsibility arising from it remain subject to applicable law.

4.4 Review standards and anonymity

Write about your own experience, state factual claims accurately and distinguish them from honestly held opinions. Do not impersonate others, coordinate misleading reviews, conceal incentives or conflicts of interest, threaten anyone, or disclose personal or confidential information about children, families or individual staff. This is not an emergency or urgent safeguarding reporting channel; contact the appropriate emergency services or competent authority where necessary.

Reviewer names are not displayed with public reviews. If you submit without signing in or providing identifying details, the review is not linked to an account and you do not supply us with your name or email. Technical records may still exist, and a review may later be linked to an account if you claim it. Teachy may hold account information linking a review to its author, including when an anonymous review is later claimed. Details in your own account of events may identify you. We may disclose information where legally required; public anonymity is not a promise that we cannot identify an author.

4.5 Reporting content and requesting review

Email adrianvalrom@gmail.com with the review ID and crèche page URL, your name and contact details, the specific content concerned, an explanation of why it is unlawful or breaches these Terms, any available supporting evidence, and a statement that your report is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge and made in good faith. Use the three-dot menu beside a review to open reporting instructions, copy its link and prepare an email. Opening that page does not send a report. Missing contact details do not prevent us from considering information that reveals potentially unlawful content; identification is not required where applicable law provides an exception.

A sufficiently specific complaint is reviewed by an administrator. We may manually hide a comment provisionally where the initial assessment identifies reasonable grounds to suspect a breach or a risk that justifies restricting access during review. Receipt of an email does not automatically remove content or establish that a complaint is justified. We assess reports diligently, objectively and without undue delay. Public notices distinguish provisional hiding from removal for a stated breach. Ordinary comment moderation leaves its rating, hourly pay and English level visible. Reports may concern any part of a review; where justified, we may restrict the affected content or remove the entire review. Disagreement with a rating alone does not establish a breach.

We acknowledge reports where contact details are available and communicate the decision, relevant reasons and available review options to the affected author and reporter where contact details are available, subject to lawful restrictions. A generic public notice supplements rather than replaces an individual explanation when one can be delivered. Ask for a human review at the same email address, quoting the review ID and your reasons. This does not restrict other remedies available by law. We cannot promise individual notification to an anonymous author for whom we have no contact details.

Where justified, we restore the comment. If the source review or crèche has been deleted, we do not automatically recreate it. Private moderation records may survive public removal only for justified purposes described in the Privacy Policy. Copies already obtained by others cannot necessarily be recalled.

4.6 Leaving Teachy and removing content

You may request account closure or removal of your content at the contact email above. We may request proportionate evidence of identity or authorship, including for an anonymous review. Public removal, account deletion and limited retention of private records are different actions. We explain any necessary retention when handling your request; records are not retained indefinitely merely because they relate to moderation.

Our Privacy Policy explains personal data use and retention. Accepting these Terms is not blanket consent to optional data processing.

5. Employment-related information

Information on Teachy may help users understand workplaces, but is not a guarantee of employment, qualifications, suitability or working conditions. Verify information relevant to your decisions independently. Any employment agreement is between the parties concerned; Teachy is not a party to that agreement. Childcare providers remain responsible for recruitment checks required of them, including qualifications, references, right to work and safeguarding. This does not exclude statutory obligations applicable to Teachy.

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Create fake or misleading profiles or impersonate others.
• Post false, defamatory, or unlawful content.
• Engage in harassment, discrimination, or abuse of any kind.
• Collect or "scrape" user data without consent.
• Use automated systems (bots, scripts) to access or interact with the Platform.
• Post or transmit viruses or malicious software.
• Interfere with the normal functioning of the Platform.

Violation of these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account and possible legal action.

7. Liability Disclaimer

We take reasonable care in providing the Platform, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, security measures and events outside our reasonable control may affect access.

We do not guarantee the accuracy of user contributions, suitability of a particular employer or applicant, or the outcome of employment discussions. These limits do not remove our own duties under applicable law.

Subject to applicable law, we are not responsible for losses arising solely from the following matters where they are not attributable to a breach of our own obligations:

• Interactions between teachers and creches,
• The outcome of job applications,
• Interruptions outside our reasonable control, or
• Losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the relevant obligation arose.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Platform and its materials (including our name, logo, interface, and software) belong to VALERA MINDLAB LIMITED or the relevant rights holders. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without written consent.

9. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the service or legal requirements. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes, unless urgent legal or security reasons require earlier action, state when they take effect and request acceptance where required.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Irish law and disputes are subject to Irish courts, without affecting mandatory rights or jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
